Imaginarium is an outdoor walk-thru event that is a magical journey through light. There are over three million LED lights in four different zones. The zones include Rhapsody in Blue (where lights and music are synchronized); Winter Wonderland (where the holidays are celebrated in an area aglow with white); Field of Dreams (where visitors can walk through a field of 30,000 LED roses in various colors); and The Ocean Experience (where visitors can feel like they can walk on water and be inside a wave). There are also carnival rides, games, costumed characters, a Beer Garden, and food options.

Yes, you can buy tickets at the gate once we open. Please note that event days may sell out and you may not be able to purchase a ticket at the gate.

If you purchased your tickets online, open up the attachment on your computer and select a printer. You can then print paper tickets to show at the gate. You can also bring your phone to the event and open up the attachment on your phone and show it to the Ticket Scanner. If you have an iPhone you can add your tickets to your Apple Wallet and scan the QR code.

Yes, you can reschedule your tickets to another weekday or weekend, depending on what type of tickets you purchased. We cannot reschedule tickets after 1/15/2022, as the last day to attend the event is 1/16/2022. Please use the form on our contact page and give us the date you would like to reschedule your tickets.

Yes, for Active, Retired, or Veterans of the U.S. Military and for First Responders, Nurses, and Medical Workers you can receive $4.00 off for no more than four (4) admission tickets (to include the eligible member). Must be redeemed at the gate on either a ticket purchased at the gate or in the form of a refund to an already purchased ticket online. If other members of the party purchased pre-sale tickets, then the admission ticket will be sold at the price of the pre-sale ticket and will include $4.00 off. Must present a valid  ID.

You can buy a separate rides wristband for those members of your party that want to have unlimited access to the rides or buy individual tickets if you only want to ride one or two rides. Individual ride tickets cost $1.00 and can only be purchased on the night you attend. See our pricing here.

Yes. Wheelchairs can be rented for $25.00 on a first come, first served basis. When you arrive to the event, request a wheelchair from a ticketing agent or at the guest service window.

Yes. We will have a variety of food options for purchase.

Animals needed to assist guests (such as guide dogs) are welcome at Cal Expo. To learn more about service animals, please visit Visit ADA.gov site for Service Animal info. Other pets are not allowed at Imaginarium.

Please do not leave pets in your vehicle unattended if it is warm out. Your windows could be broken by the Sacramento County Animal Shelter, your pets taken and you could be charged with a crime. Always leave your name and phone number on your window or dashboard so you can be reached if it’s an emergency.

The health and safety of our guests and staff is of the utmost importance and continues to be at the forefront during our run at Cal Expo. We are actively monitoring and following all State and County guidelines pertaining to COVID-19. During the 2021 – 2022 season, tickets will be sold by the day and capacity will be limited to enhance safety and guest experience.

Please note the important details below prior to attending our event:

  • All guests (ages 2 and up), vaccinated and unvaccinated, are required to wear masks indoors.
  • When outdoors, face coverings remain optional for all Guests in outdoor common areas.
  • The State of California strongly recommends that all Guests be fully vaccinated or receive a negative COVID-19 test prior to entering an event venue or attending a large public gathering.
  • An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present.
